“어쩌면 우리 모두 이민자이다.” ‘한국에 살고 있는 외국인’에 국한된 ‘이민자’에 대한 시선과 선입견을 재조명한 작품이다. 다문화 도시 안산에 사는 다양한 국적의 사람들의 인터뷰를 활용하여, ▲방황하고 이동하는 우리의 불안한 모습, ▲당면한 현재의 삶을 헤쳐 나가는 순간을 예술적으로 풀어냈다. 어쩌면 우리 모두에게 해당될지도 모르는 이민자적인 삶에 대한 고찰을 담았다.

“Maybe we're all immigrants.”

"I'm an Immigrant, Too!" sheds new light on the attention and prejudices against immigrants and foreigners living in South Korea. Utilizing interviews with people of diverse nationalities living in multicultural Ansan, the group artistically gets to the bottom of ▲their anxiety as they wander and move, and ▲ the moments they endure in their current lives. The work contemplates the lives of immigrants, something that may apply to us all.

프로젝트 외WAE(Project WAE)는 ‘왜, 극장공간이 아닌 외부공간에서 작업하는가? (Why And Exterior)'라는 의문과 답안을 찾기 위해 구성된 프로젝트 그룹이다. 축제에서 커뮤니티 작업 및 다국적 협업방식을 통해 일상공간에서 역동적인 춤이 가미된 장소특정형 거리무용극을 만들고 있다. 최근엔 다큐멘터리적 요소로 동시대의 삶과 예술의 경계를 허물기 위한 작업을 해나가고 있다.

Project WAE is a group formed to ask the question "Why do we perform outside of the theatre? (Why and Exterior)" and seeks answers to the question. Through community work and multinational collaboration at festivals, the group creates venue-specific street dance plays that incorporate dynamic dances in familiar spaces. Using documentary elements, they have been working to break down barriers between life and art.
